Many in rural villages have fallen ill and in some cases fatal due to contaminated water. We are working to provide access to clean water by building water well epicenters. In many cases, women are walking far distance, sometimes up to three miles to fetch water for their family. The water is contaminated with ailments of chemicals in the soil and mosquito infested, which causes numerous health problems among many in the rural villages.

Our mission is to energize development projects. Alethe Fatherley, a Gemologist and jewelry industry veteran, founded JFW in 2007. She serves as the non-profit’s Executive Director.
JFW operates ethically and transparently, adhering to the highest standards of integrity in everything we do. Each project we undertake is closely monitored to ensure our guiding principles are observed and, more importantly, to lend a voice to those living in Africa’s villages and rural areas. In addition to its current water well projects, JFW plans to expand its reach to support cooperative projects with Kilimanjaro Hospital to aid treatment of local cases of HIV/AIDS, malaria, and tuberculosis. We’re also exploring a partnership to train local women to manufacture jewelry as a means to a sustainable livelihood.
